Jennifer Flanagan, President

Jennifer is a partner with the law firm Vacovec, Mayotte & Singer, where she concentrates her practice in estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, non-profit formation, and tax law.  She is committed to volunteering and has served in various roles with her town and professional organizations.  Jennifer is currently actively involved with uAspire in Boston, which works with students to find an affordable path to and through college.  She was a past board member of Barakat, Inc., which advocates for the education of girls and women in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As the mother of two strong, independent daughters, she is honored to be part of a group focused on improving the lives and futures of women and girls.  She is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross, Boston College Law School and Boston University School of Law. Jennifer serves on the Womenade Membership Committee.


Pam Messenger, Vice President and Treasurer

Pam Messenger

Pam joined Friends of Post Office Square in 2007, providing direction and management of The Garage at Post Office Square and the Norman B. Leventhal Park - a first class mixed-use real estate project in Boston’s financial district. Before joining Friends, she spent 20 years as a senior real estate paralegal/department administrator at Palmer & Dodge LLP. Pam is Chair of the Downtown Boston Business Improvement District (Boston BID) Board and serves on its Executive and Finance Committees; is a past Board Member of CREW Boston (formerly New England Women in Real Estate); is an Associate Board Member of A Better City; and serves on the Boxford Town Democratic Committee, having completed nine years of service on the Boxford School Committee. She is a graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts and holds a MPA from Suffolk University.


Nancy Lane, Secretary

Nancy has held various technical roles in manufacturing industries with an emphasis on optimizing design and product performance. She is currently Director of Quality at Entegris, leading a global organization supporting the Microcontamination Control division. Her work takes her to locations across the United States and Asia. Closer to home she is involved in nonprofit initiatives focused on human rights, education and food justice. Nancy holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a Certificate of Special Studies from Harvard University in Management and Business.


Brenda Alpert

Brenda Alpert has spent her career as an executive in the Chemical industry, primarily serving the Coatings, Adhesives and Elastomers markets. She currently runs a consulting business. She has worked on several boards as a past president/VP including the ASC, the Chemical Club of New England, the John M Barry Boys and Girls Club and, currently, the Eastern Coatings Society. She is an advocate for strong women and spent many years coaching basketball. She recently started a Women’s Networking program for the ECS conference. She is delighted to join the board of Womenade Boston to help lead this charitable giving group as it works to aid programs and charities that benefit women’s group in Boston and MA.


Libby Hamilton

Libby Hamilton has spent her career in financial services.  She is currently an associate at Moody, Lynn & Lieberson, where she focuses on client service and financial planning, helping clients ensure their circumstances and investment objectives are well-aligned.  She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and received her bachelor's degree from St. Lawrence University.  As a long-time Boston resident, Libby is delighted to be a part of Womenade Boston and is looking forward to continuing the organization's tradition of empowering women and girls in the local community.  


Cheryl Weber

Cheryl has worked in the non-profit sector for most of her career as a social worker, and as an administrator in both higher education and the arts. As Director of Alumni Relations at New England Conservatory and Wheelock College, Cheryl developed national alumni programs integral to successful capital campaigns. Her work as Director of Development for World Music/CRASHarts (now Global Arts Live) included overseeing strategic planning, fundraising, and board development. In addition, Cheryl is a performing member of LIBANA, Inc., a women’s world music ensemble that tours nationally and internationally, and also sings with Commonwealth Chorale. Recently retired, Cheryl volunteers with Community Servings in Jamaica Plain, the Cambridge Women’s Center, and is involved in political work with JP Progressives. She received her BS from Winona University and her MS from Lesley University. Cheryl currently serves on the Evaluation Committee of Womenade.


Lisa Zwirn

Lisa is a freelance food writer for the Boston Globe, Edible Boston, and a few other publications. Her writing career was a change of heart and direction from two decades in the corporate banking industry, where she analyzed the financial condition and credit risk of financial institutions as well as structured, negotiated, and managed large loans to industrial companies. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan and MBA from Northwestern University. Lisa co-chairs the Womenade Marketing & Communication Committee.
